Red-hot candies (I usually use hot tamales)
- Peel and core/slice apples.
- Put in a pot with 1 cup of water. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat for 20 minutes. Mash with a potato masher.
- Add 1 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of red-hot candies. Stir and cook until candies are dissolved.
- Cool. Refrigerate until serving.
